About us
RSPCA West Dorset Branch is a separate charity affiliated to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). We cover the towns of Dorchester, Bridport, Weymouth, Portland, Lyme Regis, Charmouth, Sherborne and Axminster (Devon) and the surrounding villages. Our priorities are the welfare and rehoming of local animals. We raise our funds within the Branch boundaries and all money raised is spent within the area. We are responsible for "Taylors Rehoming Centre" at Kingston Maurward, Dorchester. What we do We run Taylors Rehoming Centre - we take in and find new home for animals We assist with vet bills - currently only the neutering of female cats We run three charity shops in Bridport, Dorchester and Sherborne We fundraise within the branch boundaries - all money raised is spent locally We provide volunteering opportunities for local people What we do NOT do We do not investigate cruelty We do not have RSPCA Inspectors We do not currently have facilities to take in or re-home dogs
