RSPCA
West Dorset Branch is a separate charity affiliated to the
Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).
We cover the towns of Dorchester, Bridport, Weymouth, Portland, Lyme
Regis, Charmouth, Sherborne and Axminster (Devon) as well as all the
surrounding villages and hamlets. Our main priorities are the
welfare and rehoming of local animals. We raise ours funds
within the Branch boundaries and all money raised is spent within the
area. We are responsible for "Taylors Animal Rehoming Centre" at
Kingston Maurward, Dorchester. |

One of the easiest ways you can
help RSPCA West Dorset Branch is to visit our three Charity Shops in
Dorchester, Axminster and Bridport. There are lots of nearly-new clothes to be had at bargain
prices plus bric-a-brac, books, toys etc. and a selection of new goods
including (in season), our exclusive range of RSPCA West Dorset
Christmas cards.
We are always in need of items to
sell; clothes in good condition, bric-a-brac, etc. Do remember us
when you are weeding out unwanted items and superfluous presents,
jewellery and books. We cannot take any electrical goods, vinyl
music records or any items made of real fur, ivory or sea-shells.
Maybe you would like to volunteer
to help in the Shops? As well as regular staff (from as little as
one afternoon a week) we are in need of 'emergency
staff' - people who we can call upon when our regular helpers are
unavailable. If you are unable to commit to helping every week
perhaps this might suit you? Of course, there would be no obligation
on your part, but if we could call you to see if you might be able to help
out in times of emergency it would really help us to keep the Shops running smoothly.
We would be pleased to hear from you, however much time you have to
spare.
